One of the most picturesque and colorful places in Medellin and all of Colombia is district 13 (comuna 13). Almost all visitors to the city try to get here. . . . . . Now this area is famous for its graffiti, music and street food. But even 30-40 years ago, when Medellin was the cocaine capital of Colombia, these slums were the most criminal place on earth. Magdalena is considered the main and longest river of Colombia, its catchment area covers 24% of the mainland of the country, which is home to the bulk of the population of Colombia, contributing 85% to the national GDP. It is the largest mountain river in South America. Near the city of San Agustin, in a place where the river descends from the mountains into the valley, a strait was formed, about 1 kilometer long, where a turbulent stream has a width of 2 to 4 meters. .

In the year of 2000, the Colombian artist Fernando Botero donated 208 art pieces, 123 of his own making and 85 of other international artists, to the Bank of the Republic. With this collection, the Botero Museum was founded in the neighborhood of La Candelaria, the historic center of Bogotá, in a colonial mansion that was acquired by the Bank of the Republic and made suitable to house the art collection by Fernando Botero himself.
