The Central African Republic officially gained independence in 1960. But the inhabitants of the country keep their record of December 1, 1958, when the colony of Ubangi-Shari was proclaimed the Autonomous Central African Republic within the French Community. In 2008, on the occasion of the anniversary of this event, a 50th anniversary square was created in the capital of the country and busts of six rulers of the country were installed.[youtube]DuZT_f90naI[/youtube]
For 50 years the country was headed by 5 presidents. But we see 6 busts. The first belongs to Barthelemy Boganda, the founding father of the republic, who died in a plane crash shortly before independence.

Only near the bust of Barthelemy Boganda there is a tablet. Every president used to have one. But often the locals spoiled the bust of the infamous Bokassa. Then the plates were removed in the hope that his image was forgotten and would not be spoiled again.

Although even now it is clear that on the face of Bokassa a piece was broken off on the right cheek.
