Magdalena is considered the main and longest river of Colombia, its catchment area covers 24% of the mainland of the country, which is home to the bulk of the population of Colombia, contributing 85% to the national GDP. It is the largest mountain river in South America.
Near the city of San Agustin, in a place where the river descends from the mountains into the valley, a strait was formed, about 1 kilometer long, where a turbulent stream has a width of 2 to 4 meters.

This is the narrowest section of the Magdalena River.
We were carried away by visiting the famous archaeological sites of the region and did not notice how dusk came. But they could not help but visit such a natural miracle. Therefore, on Estrecho del Río Magdalena, we found ourselves in almost complete darkness. .
